I’m grateful for my dad. He taught me the best that he could and always stuck to his convictions. He taught me the importance of respect, hard work and kindness towards everyone you meet. Most importantly, he taught me about loyalty and how to know that you’ve found the right one to spend eternity with. I can’t imagine my life without him. I can only hope that I, with my own four children, can provide the same loving guidance that my father did. Tough act to follow.
There are many children out there without a father figure, or even an older brother to help point them in the right direction. Studies show that children with a positive older male role model in their life are far less likely to participate in gang activities or in drugs. They are more likely to succeed academically and socially. They stand a better chance at finding gainful employment.
