Carry on.

Ding! I’ve hit the next level

After several interviews from various companies, I’ve been blessed with a new position as a Project Manager for a local Human Resources consulting firm! I know that I couldn’t have done it without the support of my wife and family, the prayers of friends and associates and the hand of the Maker who opened the door for me.

Salary’s good… a modest increase. But the most important thing is that I don’t have to work weekends, and that I have my evenings free! I can now have dinner with my wife on a regular basis. I can play with my son every afternoon. I can wake up early to read and go exercise. I can actually visit my extended family and friends in the evening without having the fear of falling asleep at the wheel, or on my desk.

The neat thing is that the job is 100% related to one of my Employee Engagement projects that I wrote during my last year at Capilano! In fact, that one project got me interested in HR in a big way. And now, I get to do it as a career.

I’ve never felt so much peace in such a long time. It feels so good knowing that after working double duty in school and work for four years, we can now reap the rewards.

So now, I’m contemplating starting a new blog tagline. I’m no longer a “second-try student.”
