Personal Reflection: Maisie’s Baptism

Maisie’s Baptism

It’s been a long time since I have baptized someone. The last person that I baptized was Leo Obiefoka, during my mission in Korea. It was a choice experience to take part in the helping someone into the Kingdom of God through the ordinance of Baptism.

But today, it was another Choice experience in a different way. This was my niece. Although I cared for Leo very much, this was a member of my family who made a Choice to follow the example of the Savior and be baptized. And she asked me to take part in it by baptizing her and confirming her.

What a privilege it is to have the Priesthood of God in your life… to be able to do these things in the name of Jesus Christ. I feel now that I ought to live more righteously in order to honor this priesthood which was given to me.

Maisie, If you’re reading this, thank you so much for allowing me to baptize you and confirm you. I will never forget this day.
